After hiding The General Lee, the boys walked over to the barn. Yep, they’re about to go on yet another adventure. Jose and Jesse looked at the red painted barn. There were two men in front of there sitting in chairs. “You want to take a crack at making the plan or shall I?” Jose asked.
“We’re going behind the main house and over to the barn. I know there has to be some rope somewhere around here. It’s a farm,” Jesse whispered.
“Good plan,” Jose whispered back. They snuck around the house. As they approached the barn sure enough, they found some rope. Jesse made a lasso and swung it over his head. “What are you doing?”
“Come on, I may be in the computer generation but I still know what being a cowboy is all about.” Jose smiled as Jesse threw up the rope. He hit a board that had been left out on the top of the barn.
“Nice shot but you couldn’t do that twice.”
“Don’t have to Jose…we’ll climb one at a time.”
“Ah I see Jesse, so no Batman and Robin heroics?”
“Batman has the utility belt. All I have is the sidekick and a rope.” Jose rolled his eyes and smiled. Jesse began making his way up the rope. As got to the top, Jesse signaled Jose to come up. Jose climbed with ease. Nothing ever goes perfectly for the Dukes. The rope suddenly snapped. Jose grabbed onto the edge of the barn. He bit on his lip, hoping he wouldn’t scream.
“Holy broken back batman, get me up.”
“Don’t worry Robin, I’ll help you.” Jose reached for Jesse slowly, hoping that he could hold on with one hand. Jesse managed to grab his cousin. He pulled poor Jose up. “I have one thing to say.”
“What’s that?”
“Robin’s rope wouldn’t have broken.”
“Haven’t you watched the sixties version?”
“No I did not.”
“You sure missed a lot. Adam West, great hero.”
“What were you trying to say?”
“There’s always something that goes wrong for our heroes.”
“Yeah but they always seem to get in there alright.”
“Robin’s always in Batman’s way. That’s why they get caught most of the time.” Jose rolled his eyes. “Well it’s true.”
“Well if Robin were smarter than Batman, it would be called the Robin show and he would have the theme song.”
“Okay, enough of this, let’s go.” They pulled themselves into the window and looked down into it. Sure enough, there was Jordanian sitting there all tied up. The guards all seemed to be outside. They knew that they would have one chance to get her out. Jordanian struggled to get free of her ropes. You could see the red marks on her wrists.
Jesse shook his head softly as he continued to look attentively at the situation. Jose elbowed him. You couldn’t get the anger out of Jesse’s eyes, no one could. He hated to see anyone tied up like that. Jose and Jesse both knew how it was like to be tied up or put somewhere you don’t want to be. They were ready to get her out.
Jose noticed Jordanian had a gag in her mouth. Her jeans were dirty and her shirt was ripped. Her light colored shoulder peered out from the white shirt. Jordanian needed to get out of here. Both of the boys had to figure out a good way before those guards came back in.
This was a sad sight indeed y’all. A young woman, who had done nothing wrong was being held hostage. Now folks if that don’t make you feel upset then I don’t know what will. Y’all know as well as I do that these boys are goanna get her out. Now Jesse signaled his cousin, Jose, to walk down the set of worn out steps.
Jose bobbed his head up and down, meaning he was ready for it. They pushed themselves up, ramming some of the hay out of their way. The boys strolled down the flight of stairs of the loft leisurely and as peacefully as humanly possible. They walked closer and closer to poor Jordanian.
Jesse took out his knife and cut the ropes off Jordanian. She pulled the gag out of her mouth. “Oh boy, am I glad to see you two. They were goanna make Annie pay money for me,” Jordanian mumbled.
“I know sweetie but we gotta git you out of here,” Jesse whispered.
“I am so thankful you guys are here. I don’t think I could take another minute with these dirty rats.”
“I know what you mean. We had a look at them.”
“Alright, well, let’s get out of here.”
“We’re going.”
“No one’s going anywhere,” A voice from behind the boys said.
“You want to make a bet?”
“Yeah, I do want to make a bet.” The man took out a gun. Jose and Jesse looked at each other. “So what say you now?”
“Well let’s see, I say…umm…” Jesse put his hands up and shook his head. Jose elbowed Jesse. They both nodded. Jose grabbed the gun. It went off once but he managed to pull it out of his hands. Jesse gave the bad guy a good swift punch in the face. There was another gun shot. Jose fired in the air. “You don’t like to shoot people either?”
“You got it cuz,” Jose answered. Jordanian ran with them. They managed to get out of there and into the General Lee. The men followed behind them with their shot guns. “Isn’t this peachy, we have a convoy behind us.”
“Yeah but we’re goanna have to get out of this before we’re all shot dead.”
“Well Jess, if you hold us straight enough…”
“Wait until the bullets run out of their gun. Don’t you dare shoot at them with the firearm that you took possession of or I’ll…”
“No worries. Jordanian, keep your head down at all times.” She did as Jose said for her to do. The guns shot off all around them. One of the guns wore off. Jose put on a dynamite charge on the arrow and flung it in the air. The first car swerved to miss and ended up rolling.
“Hey there, this is lost sheep three to Messy are you in Messy?” Jose said over the CB.
“Hold your place Messy Essy’s on the case, responding to good old lost sheep three, what do you need come back?” Essy answered over the CB.
“You remember where you were racing Bo today?”
“Uh huh, I can’t forget, I beat him.”
“Well, we need bad guy pick up on the road come back.”
“Man alive Jesse, you’re lucky I took my Uncle Sam today.”
“This is Jo Peep calling Messy Essy, would you like help with that pick up, over,” Jo commented over the CB.
“Sure Jo Peep, would love to have your help. Just come on over, we’ll work together.”
“Hey lost sheep, how many?”
“Four in the first car and three in the second, the first car has been gift wrapped for you. We’ll just shark the other one into crashing,” Jose said into the CB.
“Okay, we’ll do our magic,” Essy announced over the CB.
“10-4 and out of here, Messy Essy and Jo Peep good luck with what you’re doing.”
“10-4 Jose and Jesse.” The General was preparing for war once again. Another piece of dynamite would do it. Jose shot the ammo in the air. It blew up but the car managed to stay on the road. Jesse’s eyebrows rose. He was thrilled to be in this.
“Hey, you want me to shoot?” Jesse asked.
“What you think you can do better?”
“Nah, I know I can do better.”
“Prove it, I’ll take the driver’s seat.”
“Fine, no problem, I am the leader in this whole brigade.” Jose shook his head and switched places. Jesse grabbed two dynamite arrows and held them tight. Jose peered over at him.
“You can’t shoot two at once.”
“Yes I can. Jose, There’s a dip in the road up ahead, take it.”
“Okay but I still don’t believe you Jesse. Last time you tried this trick we had to build a new outhouse.”
“It’s not like it hasn’t been built before.”
“You were aiming at the cheesy roadster you built.”
“A minor problem.”
“Alright, here we go.” Jesse held the lighter in his hands and put the arrows in the bow. “Hold on Jordanian.” He lit them both as Jose hit the gas. Jesse let both arrows fly. Sure enough, they flew with ease and the car made its way off the road.
“Great moves.”
“This is floral Laurel calling lost sheep two and three, come in,” Laurel said over the CB.
“This is lost sheep two here, what do you need Floral, come back,” Jesse answered back on the CB.
“You two were supposed to be at the bridal shop ten minutes ago for your fitting.” Jose shook his head and laughed. “I know you’re busy saving Hazzard and all but I was wondering if you could make some time for the two of us.”
“Yep, we’re on our way.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah of course I am. We just have to drop Jordanian off at the doc’s office.” With that, the Dukes were gone on yet another adventure, to see their fiancées.
