When Cooter is found harshly beaten, Sheriff Rosco Coltrane, horrified by the crime committed across the street from the jail, is quick to find suspicions in a stranger. Though as a new person comes into the lives of the Dukes, they are forced to wonder whether or not Rosco has the right person in jail. With questions of doubt in mind and with Rosco focused on the man he had arrested, it is up to the Dukes to find out whether or not Rosco has arrested the right person for the beating of the family friend.
