New Wheels for the Dukes, Act 2

by: Keith

(We see the General Lee continue the jump over Stix River. Just before it lands, Rosco brings his patrol car to a ninety degree stop and watches the Dukes crash land on the other side. Unaware that any damage has been done, He is happy to see the General Lee stopped)

ROSCO: Ooooo….GOOD NEWS! GOOD NEWS! That worked better than I hoped, Flash! The General Lee done come to a dead stop!! CU CU!!

(Rosco’s expression turns serious when he notices a lack of movement as the dust kicked up by the landing clears away)

ROSCO: The General Lee ain’t the only thing that ain’t movin’ over there. Why ain’t the Duke boys gettin’ out?? (pics up cb microphone) Enos, are you on the other side of the river yet? Come on…

(Switch to Enos sitting in his patrol car about fifty feet ahead of the General Lee. He is looking in both directions, but his view is obstructed by bushes and trees)

ENOS: Yessir, Sheriff. I just got here. I don’t see no sign of the Duke boys, though. If I know them, they’re halfway back to the farm by now. (giggles)

In God’s Hands, ch. 9

by: Marty Chrisman

The next afternoon Cyrus had the boys brought back to the house one last time as Jesse had requested. Coy, Vance and Jeb helped to move the matching silver caskets into the living room. They sat one at either side of the room. When they were finished setting them in place, Cyrus opened the top part of the hinged lid so that Bo and Luke could be seen. Jesse had refused to dress them in suits to be buried. He wanted them to look natural. So he had opted to have Cyrus dress them in their best dress jeans with a yellow shirt for Bo and a blue shirt for Luke, their favorite colors.

After Cyrus had left, the three Duke cousins huddled together and looked at Bo and Luke solemnly. Cyrus had done a good job. They looked perfectly natural; there were no visible signs of the terrible injuries that had killed them. If you tried really hard it almost looked like they were just sleeping. Slowly, other family members and friends began drifting into the living room to look at the boys. Coy and Vance moved over to the far corner of the living room where they could talk privately without being overheard.

“I think we best stay around here for awhile.” Vance said quietly

The Hijackers: Prologue

by: Kristy Duke

***JUNE 1979***

An icy chill slowly crawls up my spine as I force myself to stare into the cold, hard eyes of the muscular, evil killer that stands only feet away from me. “Well hello sheriff,”an evil smile slowly creeps across his handsome face as he quickly draws an automatic hand gun from somewhere within his dark windbreaker, sending my mind racing wildly within me. Fear accelerates within me as I stare into the dark barrel of the gun, my mind pictures his dead victims, their unheard cries for help echoes lively within me. “Heard you were lookin’ for me,” his thick voice quivers as his right palm quickly turns ghastly white as he clenches tightly upon the cold metal handle of the gun, “well here I am.”

I feel my hands clenching tightly at my sides as the gun man smugly smiles at me, his dark brown eyes are aglow with evil laughter while he stares deeply within me before he turns his attention to Rachel. My heart leaps with intense anger mixed with fear as I protectively glance over at Rachel who clings desperately onto my left elbow, her bright green eyes are brightly lit up in panic and fear. Glancing back up at the evil gun man, my mind quickly rushes through the information I have learned over the last couple of months about him and his gang, of the horrible things they have done. A shudder rushes harshly through me as I un-voluntarily think of their past victims, of the nightmares they had been forced to live through, of their pain, of their horrible death they suffered. Once again, I protectively glance over at Rachel as my mind rushes through panicked thoughts of what the next few moments will hold for us. My mouth abruptly turns dry as I am filled with intense fear for Rachel with anger swarming thickly within me towards the gun man.

Silence seems to explode between the three of us as a black bird caws somewhere within the thick woods that surrounds the back land of the old farm house. Turning my attention towards the muscular gun man, my stomach churns angrily in nerves as I slowly speak up, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. . .I’m just on my lunch break.”

In God’s Hands, ch. 8

by: Marty Chrisman

Cyrus Miller, the local mortician ushered Jesse Duke, Daisy Duke, Cooter Davenport and three of the other Duke cousins, Coy, Vance and Jeb into his office. Cyrus had been a mortician for forty some years, he was used to dealing with distraught family members and this wasn’t first time he’d buried a member of the Duke family. He’d buried Bo, Luke and Daisy’s parents, as well as Jesse’s wife but this time it was harder than usual to go through his normal routine. Bo and Luke were both so young and so well liked in the community.

“I’ll try to make this as quick as possible, Jesse.” Cyrus told him sympathetically “First of all, I need to know if you want the caskets open or closed at the service.”

“Open.” Jesse said “I want to see my boys one last time.”

“Alright. What about the obituaries? I can get most of the information from what I have on file for Martha and Luke’s folks.”

“That’ll be fine.” Jesse said nodding his head absentmindedly

New Wheels for the Dukes, Act 1

by: Keith

Act One

(Opening shot of a ramp-like mound of dirt bordering a river. Within a few seconds, we hear the General Lee’s engine and then immediately see him jump the river. Three more basic jumps follow and the series of stunts concludes with the famous rivine jump.)

BALLADEER: Now, friends, if you’re wonderin’ why the General has taken off more times in the last two minutes than the only plane at the Hazzard airport has all year, it’s because it’s time once again for Boss Hogg’s annual Drag N’ Fly race. Bo and Luke are pullin’ out all the stops to make sure the ol’ General is up to the challenge.

(We see a traditional shot of Bo and Luke in the General Lee)

LUKE: You hearin’ what I’m hearin’?

BO: Well, if you’re talkin’ about that high-pitched squeekin’ noise that sounds like the shocks just gave out, then yeah, I’m hearin’ what you’re hearin’.

LUKE: Well, we can’t enter the General in the Drag N’ Fly with the shocks in this bad shape. Better head over to Cooter’s and see if he can help us out.

(Fade to an outside shot of the couny courthouse.)

BALLADEER: Now, y’all might recall that last year before the Drag N’ Fly, Boss had Luke hypnotized into thinking that the general was a piece of junk to keep the Dukes from enterin’ the race. Luckily, though, Uncle Jesse brought Luke back to his senses before it was too late. Well, folks, this year ain’t gonna be no different. Cause ol’ Boss is already cookin’ up a plan to keep Bo and Luke from gettin’ to the startin’ line.
